Four Furry Nasty Creatures
(E.J.Geel)
I live in an extraordinary place,
its an old villa in the Italian countryside
Friends say I’m blessed to be far away from the city noise
But girl, aren't you scared at night?
When they see the cobwebs in the hall
And the cloud of bugs around the porch light
And those
Four furry nasty creatures commonly called cats
They say, nice place but a little crowded perhaps
I make a living singing songs
To make people, fans included, yawn
The newspapers are delivered, the world is off to work when I get
Home after dawn
The quiet wall of green around my house
Breaks open and ferocious beasts come jumping out, those
Four furry nasty creatures are working on a plot together
I’ll be the main dish with my goldfish this coming Cat Christmas
I have my breakfast at 2 PM
And watch TV as I slowly sip my coffee
But from the TV screen and all around the TV
Green eyes are watching me
They stare at me from the kitchen mat
From the edge of the tub as I take my bath, those
Four furry nasty creatures are working on a plot together
I’ll be the main dish with my goldfish this coming Cat Christmas
I’ll be the main dish with my goldfish this coming Cat Christmas
They stick their large heads in my pots and pans
And under the blankets, in between me and my man
They purr and pry but in the depth of their eye
I can see them dance around the fire
When the night falls I lock them out but I can
Still hear them whine
In my dream they walk all over my face and attack me from behind
I wake up in a pool of sweat
With four grinning cats all over my bed, those
Four furry nasty creatures are working on a plot together
I’ll be the main dish with my goldfish this coming Cat Christmas
I’ll be sliced up and juicy
this coming Cat Christmas
I’ll be spiced-up and garnished
this coming Cat Christmas
Those four furry nasty creatures are working on a plot together
I’ll be the main dish with my goldfish
this coming Cat Christmas
this coming Cat Christmas
this coming Cat Christmas
this coming Cat Christmas…
